Industrial design
The anodized aluminum housing of the MTi series protects the internal components against damage. The housing is tested to meet IP 67, so it can withstand temporary immersion at a depth of 1m.

3DOF Orientation tracking Using XSens IMU AHRS or VRU

Xsens IMU AHRS or VRU can be used for detecting and tracking the 3DOF orientation. 

The knowledge of spatial orientation can help in building autonomous systems, such as robotic platforms, UGVs UAVs, by removing the use of human interface in the form of a joystick command. 

The units detect the current state of the moving object and the algorithm adjusts the orientation accordingly. 

Such systems today can be built by integrating laserscanner for obstacle avoidance and navigation and SLAM, wheel encoders stereo camera systems and some control unit. 

The XSens MTi-10 series or the MTi-100 IMUs provide the 3d drift free orientation data. 

The internal accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers provide the 3d acceleration, 3d rate of turnand 3d earth magnetic field. 

With this information the embeded computer can adjust the translational and rotational speeds of the moving object.
