Hokuyo UBG-05LN operates by scanning a laser (λ=785nm).  The coordinates are calculated by measuring the distance to the the object and the step angle.  The Scanning laser range finder works on 24 v and so can easily be used with a 24V battery for the robotic platforms.

  • Scanning angle(detecting area) is 180° and detecting area can be free to set with 0.1 to 5m(length) and 4m(width) and it can set detecting distance with 3 steps output per each area.
  • Hokuyo UBG-05LN can change the detecting area (31 kinds max.) that was set beforehand by outer bit input.
  • Power source is 24VDC and current consumption is 150mA or less.
  • UBG-05LN cannot use the SCIP 1 or SCIP 2 commands.
  • This device works with the help of an area setting software to create a scanning zone for outputs to be triggered when an object comes within the scanning path.
